In last job within the NHS was as Director of North Kensington Health Recovery. I was responsible for the remediation of the survivors and the bereaved by ensuring they received appropriate physical and mental health service NHS provision. I had to manage the media, politicians and and local key stakeholders such as Public Health. This was this biggest disaster the UK had experienced since World War II and I was proud to have managed the health inequalites in this deprived area succesfully. I acted with integrity and courage and patients were always at the centre of the decisions I made which were frequently controversial for key stakeholders and the local and national politicians. This job hugely influenced why I set up Nexus and had the desire to address health inequalites. Mona Hayat
